Children of Married Parents to be Adoptable
The Minister for Children, Frances Fitzgerald, is preparing legislation to allow children from married parents to be adopted.
To date, only children from unmarried mothers could be adopted, unless it could be shown that the parents were unable or unwillng to care for them.

Separation award not based on Spouse's subsequent wealth
The Supreme court has ruled that a spouse cannot be awarded increases based only on the other spouses wealth accumulated after the parties serarated. A PERSON who becomes very wealthy following a separation is not obliged to increase the money paid to his or her spouse under a separation agreement, unless the increased wealth came from a joint project, the Supreme Court has ruled.
