The Injuries Board or Personal Injuries Assessment Board (PIAB) was signed into law on the 28th December 2004 and came into operation on the 1st June 2004. Since that date, the majority of personal injury claims must be sent to them before issuing court proceedings. An Injuries Board application form must be completed and sent to them with a medical report from your doctor outlining the injuries you have suffered.
We have extensive experience in this area and have made many applications to the Injuries Board. The Injuries Board will assess your claim based on the injuries you have suffered and make an award on this basis. The person who has to pay this award can accept or reject the award and you will then be allowed to issue court proceedings.
When the Injuries Board makes the award, we will advise you if you should accept or reject the award. It is important to assess if your injury is improving and this is an important factor when deciding to accept the award. We have the experience to ensure you get the best possible advice throughout this process. We will guide you through the process from start to finish.
The Injuries Board use a Book of Quantum to assess how much compensation to pay and this can be downloaded by following this link to
