What is discrimination?
Broadly speaking, discrimintaion is where a person is said to be directly or indirectly discriminated against if he/she is treated less favourably than another employee in the same situation.
There are many types of discrimination from ignoring your requests for a proper place of work to passing you over for promotion.
You should bring any perceived discrimination to the attention of your immediate boss before making any more formal complaint.
Employers in Ireland must comply with the The Employment Equality Act, 1998 which outlaws discrimination in employment on a number of specified grounds. This treatment can be very stressful and upsetting. We have considerable experience advising people in this tough situation and helping them move on with their lives.
