Renting a property

If you are going to rent a property, what do you need to do to make sure your rights are protected?

Information for Tenants

If you are going to rent a property, it is important that you sign a Lease with your Landlord to give you security. The Lease should contain a number of important clauses to give proptection to both you and the Landlord. We can review any Lease given to you by your Landlord and ensure you have the correct protection.

The Lease should be registered with the Private Residential Tenancies Board (PRTB) who can deal with any disputes you may have with your Landlord. If you have a dispute with your Landlord, we can advise you of your entitlements and rights and deal with the Landlord on your behalf. We can also correspond with the Private Residential Tenancies Board and attend Hearings on your behalf.

Information for Landlords

Renting a property to strangers can be worrying. You might have concerns about your property and what the tenants will be like. We can take away this stress by drafting a Lease setting out what are the responsibilities of each party and how to resolve any disputes, if any. We will advise you of what you need to do and how best to protect you and your property. If unfortunately problems do arise, we can advise you of your options and help resolve the dispute.
